Jim and I were married on October 9, 1993...
in the church I grew up in, on my parents' 29th anniversary, with our parents, our brothers, my grandmother, and many other
beloved friends and family members present, by a dear friend who happened to be our pastor, to music we carefully picked out
together, sung beautifully by a cherished friend. Every aspect of that day was "handmade" by Jim & I. Almost ten years
later it is still the most magical day of my life. Did I mention? JIM DESIGNED MY GOWN!

My wedding gown is constructed of ivory bridal satin and
ivory twinkle organza. The grid pattern on the sleeves is formed by corded pintucks. Faux cultured pearls are stitched in
the center of each square. Jim, my mother, and I hand stitched the pearls and sequins which embellish the lace. My headpiece
is the Austrian crystal and pearl tiara worn by my mom on her wedding day. The headpiece is shown here without the veil, a
teardrop shaped piece of ivory twinkle organza finished with a rolled hem. The veil attaches to the tiara with hooks.

The medallion on the train began as the lace piece seen in the center.
Jim decided it was not large enough. He extended it by placing it on a piece of corded pintucked twinkle organza, which he
embellished with seed pearls. Sequin & pearl embellished lace scallops were then shaped around the medallion to make the
transition to the satin. Jim created the lace at the hemline by piecing sections of 5 lace scallops to larger lace motifs.
The bodice is constructed of bridal satin. The center front is created by the use of corded pintucks. At each intersection
of the pintucks is a teardrop shaped Austrian crystal. The neckline is finished with lace which has been embellished with
sequins and pearls. The center front panel and the sleeve top panels are framed with purchased pearl trim. The sleeves and
bodice back are closed with satin covered buttons. I felt like a princess that day, and every other day I have worn this gown!
My wedding gown may be the most well traveled garment in history, it has been places I haven't! It is now part of Jim's trunk
show. Jim & I are happy to be able to share our special day with sewing friends all over the world!
